About Dr. Sherry L. Lebeck
Sherry L. Lebeck, Ph.D., is a licensed
clinical psychologist practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area.
She works primarily with trauma victims, including domestic
violence, rape, and molestation. She works with military servicemen
and women, individuals and families traumatized by violence or
loss.
Dr. Lebeck received her training at the University of California
at Berkeley, California School of Professional Psychology
(Alliant University) and the School of Professional Psychology.
She has also participated in specialized Veterans' Administration
training for PTSD treatment. Dr. Lebeck is the former Executive
Director of the Friendship Foundation, an animal-assisted therapy
program. She has conducted original research on the effects of
animal-assisted therapy upon depression. (CV available upon request.)
Dr. Lebeck has dedicated her life to helping people heal from
the lingering effects of traumatic events. She says:
"People who exerience trauma often feel
alone and unheard. They need a safe place to express their fears
and an understanding person to hear their words. Then, healing
can begin."
